Ohoy! Time to raise the quality level of music on this board with the by far best genre on todays electro scene - French house! Alot vocal sampling, massive base lines and just pure awesome. If you're an electro junkie like me, this is by far what get's you going the most.
I doubt anyone have missed out on the greates pioneers of our time - Daft Punk, so I'll leave that out.
I'll just start off with a couple of songs. Tell me what you think or post some of your own favourites!
First of: Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (original edit) Seriously, who can forget this allstar onetime collaboration? Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk together with Alan Braxe and some great vocal sampling. This is what french house is all about. Besides, the music video is made of pure awesome
DJ Falcon - Honeymoon
Together with Thomas and Alan (from the song above) they built the solid foundation that todays french house music grows on. DJ Falcon, aproaching with a slightly different feel to the music really got me sold on this song. "Chillable" but still very dancable.
Today the french house music scene has evolved into something more raw and 80's inspired. And I just love it, just as much as the older days when the breakthrough came.
Justice - Phantom Pt II
Massive, deadly. What I like to call deathelectro. Putting up a wall of Marshall amps and headbaning over the DJ decks while maxing the PA they really got me conviced that they are to go down into history as pioneers in this genre aswell. Just one hell of a gig I tell you, see them live if you have the chance, one of the best concerts I've been to atleast!
Kavinsky - Testarossa Autodrive
Waay more 80's sound that anyone else on the music scene has today. The song's even named after 80's supercar Ferarri Testarossa. Great music. Was supposed to see him live last summer, but got canceled
Danger- 14h54
What do you get if you combine Justice with Kavisnky? The answer is easy - Danger. And it's just freaking perfect. Listen and love.
And last, what's rolling in my playlist atm: The Phantom's Revenge - I Can't Loose
Upcoming, atm underground, producer with great sense of combining more oldschool french house like Alan Braxe, Guy-Manuel etc. with todays more bass based music. And I just love the vocal sampling!
