How do colletor cards work? I was thinkin about savin to get one of me

the collectors cards are an item that you can upload any picture to and rename as you like. They were part of a promo-team event in like 08-09 but some people have made their own since then. If someone is trying to get you to pay more for a card based on who is on it, you're being ripped off.
