And also, is there a way to have your account deleted, or do you just have to set a random password and let it sit there?

Sending the items to an account called "itemdump" will have them sunk.
However you could also send the items to the "magicalsack" which will allow GMs to use them for tourneys in the future. Same goes for tc. As for the account deletion, I don't recall there being a way. You would just have to not go on the account or whatever.
