My dad told me I should eat ice cream to atleast get a cold feeling in the throat.
My mom said it isn't very good.

Yes, but eating too much will be bad for it, so don't eat too much.

Ice cream isn't actively good for anything except gaining weight or relaxing on a hot day.
Eating would provide a soothing if your throat is inflamed though, yes.

Normally when I have a sore throat I make a cup of tea with lemon and honey mixed in and it soothes it for me. That might not be what you're looking for though if it's inflamed and you want it cooled down.

Like a year ago I used hot tea when this happend.

But I got bored of the taste and after a while I didn't really like it.

Thats why I'm trying to cool it down instead of making it hot.

I had a sore throat yesterday, it hurt when I swallowed.

I drank cold tea and chewed the ice into water and swallowed and it made it hurt less.
