Omar LinX is a Toronto based Hip-Hop/Rap artist who first came to the public's attention with his work with Dubstep duo Zed's Dead. After some time working with them and various other artists he released his first mixtape, City of Ommz. Available for either free download or purchase from his official site, it displays lyrical content and production values that far outstrip any expectations for a first release. In addition to working with Zed's Dead (most notably on the track Jackie Boy which heavily samples Zed's Deads remix of Blue Foundation's Eyes on Fire), the mixtape also includes compilations with Royce Da 5’9″ + Joell Ortiz, Deuce Wonder and other notable artists. Definitely a musician to watch for the future, and definitely one of my favourite releases of the year so far.
