----------------------------------------
Right click the picture --> Save image as..
----------------------------------------
Save it on your desktop or wherever you see it convenient to find.
----------------------------------------
Then open Gimp and click File --> open.. then browse to where you saved that image and double click on it.
----------------------------------------
It will open in Gimp. Then make a new layer, click on little eye icon near the layer thumbnail and start making the head. Click on eye icon again and the head template will come forward and then you can check if the head is on right place or not.-

Sorry for making you confused. I will explain better now.

That picture is called "Head template".
-------------------------------------
  • When you open Head template in Gimp, you will see a layer named as "Back ground". It is the only layer right now.
-------------------------------------
  • Now make a new layer. You will see that there are now two layers in your layer window.
-------------------------------------
  • Click on little eye icon in front of "Back ground" layer. You will see that the template has disappeared. You can make your head texture in the "New layer" you made.
-------------------------------------
  • Now for example, you want to check if the eyes are on right place, click on eye icon again and template will come again. Check if eyes are on right place then click eye icon again to hide the template.
