About the hack
So, we all knew TB wasn't exactly secure, it has been hacked quite a few times now.

But they havn't really given us any information on this latest hack. Just that 'a few thousand accounts were compromised'.

From Skul's description it seems that there actually was no 'hack' (even skul uses it within quotation marks), and people's accounts are merely being compromised via the use of dictionary attacks.

Is this the case? What are the actual details of this attack?
The accounts that were 'hacked' were compromised in 2009. They had not changed their passwords since.

I am interested to know this aswell.

If they where done in 2009, why say all accounts? Even new ones.

As a precaution, to protect the identities of the accounts compromised, and to ensure that people occasionally change their passwords.

A lot of other accounts were poked during, and even a few newer members were caught. Best to cover all the bases given the scenario.

What kind of compromise are we talking about? The db was hacked, or people's passwords are being guessed?

Actually either way I don't think this affects me since my password should be resistant to brute force and decrypting.
