[Movie] Tetsuo: the iron man (1989)

Yesterday I found this interesting movie and started watching it. It's a japanese surrealistic movie, where the sounds, movements and stop-motion are the most important things in it.
Attention: This movie contains gore/sex scenes.

Was this is inspiration for Akira? or the other way around

Now that I've seen this movie that reminds me of something. In a japanese gift shop place in china town here, there is a full scale replica of the guy who ran over the other guy. not of them fused though
