my windows XP has windows 7 skin

and as the time passed i can happily say it suck

now I need help getting my old windows XP skin

including the sounds and stuff because it included my WINDOWS folder

so i need it badly =\

just reformat ur pc

why dont you just get the new versions of the windows like vista or 7

...Reformat to get skins back? Hardly worth it.

Ok, here's what you should do:

Get Windowblinds
Look for a Windows XP skin
Download and apply.


It should work. If there are no XP skins, you could probably ask one of the skinners(If thats the term) to see if they can do it.

Well, windows blinds is alright, but it takes up resources. Should you choose to rollback your theme. Uninstall the application you used to allow Windows 7 type Aero Theme on XP. Afterwards, you might need to reapply your old theme settings by following this:
Open your control panel then open Display.
Click the appearance tab.
Select your preferences, be it Luna or Classic.
You may need to change icons and font, that's done here.

OOH OOH I just remembered that you could probably use system restore to fix this.

System Restore, depending on your service pack, can cause more problems than it fixes. There is no need to lose settings and files for a theme. Here, read this...

Themes (Won't Load or only Windows Classic is listed)

Go to Start/Administrative Tools/Services/Themes. Set to Automatic. Also check your settings here:

Start/Administrative Tools/Services/Terminal Services/Log On. At the bottom ensure that Hardware Profile Original Configuration is Enabled.

If the above doesn't apply/nor help: Only windows Classic is listed under Appearance:

1. Right click on the desktop and choose Properties.
2. On the Theme tab, choose the Windows XP.
3. If this option is missing, you may choose Browse... to CWindows\Resources\Themes\Luna.theme
4. The Luna.theme is the theme of the Windows XP.

If Luna.theme is missing: Go to Start/Run/Msconfig/Expand Files: Luna.MS_ and Luna.TH_
