Well ok so for games the specs will be like 2gb for xp and 3gb for vista/7 and this game that says that takes a damned forever to actually get closed so I can do stuff. It will like freeze black screen show desktop, clicks do nothing but make the windows loading cursor appear and after about 2 minutes I can finally use my computer again. Now with my laptop that has winds 7 its instant closure 3gb of ram also a better cpu though and <= graphcis card. IS this cus of ram?

Vista is a notorious memory hog, and it alone would eat up a gig of ram when running anything (hence the 1 g + requirements)

seven has a smaller footprint though

If you want it to go faster, turn off the UXSMS service(dwm.exe). It's the main memory hog, and just makes things look pretty. You can turn it back on when you finish your game.

windows 7 is faster with your ram, but if youre doing windows vista get as much as possible
