"uhh, this is my take on how he does it (im not a magician, btw):
at the beginning, he has the BLUE card(the 5) at the bottom of the deck, therefore you cannot see it.
he pulls the 8 (red), then he shuffles the deck, but no matter how much, the blue card will ALWAYS be right on top of the 8 because the BLUE is at the bottom
then when he shows the 8, he DOUBLE LIFTS to only show the 8, not the 5
he sets the blue 5 down, and shuffles but he only shows the bottom deck.. the 5
