I'm not even kidding. After going to dinner with my family. We headed home, about halfway home I noticed that there was a bright light shining in the sky (while no others were). It was too bright be be a star (they weren't out yet) and It was stationary for (I'm guessing) a while.
Most of the reports were in MD.. But I saw it. It's basically the same description (stood still..bright) I live in NJ. So I couldn't really explain it in that good of detail.
I remember "seeing" a UFO when I was 8 or so once. Around lunch time some random disc thing hovering in the air interesting stuff there. But then again I once told my dad that I saw Santa in a flaming chariot in the sky.
The flash of light you saw in the sky was not a UFO. Swamp gas from a weather balloon was trapped in a thermal pocket and reflected the light from Venus.
