The best thing for you to do; since your a beginner would be to experiment with the joint's relax function, that's really how I caught onto doing madmans, boomkicks, etc.
Try to make asymmetrical replays. They look better and have more power. Use your chest to put more power in your kicks and punches. Also if you extend one hip and contract the other the kick gets more powerful too.
