but obviously it has nothing on the original Goldeneye. sooooo fun.

you know what one i liked even if it wasnt revolutionary or anything? call of duty: Big Red One. i actually cared about the characters for the first time ever. when Brooklyn dies i actually get pissed.

its the same game and whatever it has better ai in the 2nd doesnt mean its revolutionary ?

Somewhat dubious, perhaps not revolutionary but worth mentioning is the Devil May Cry series.
Brought a new spin to Beat 'em Up games with its "Stylish" meter. Kill things in a more awesome manner and get more points. Also notorious for its steep learning curve.

However the whole "stylish combat" idea doesn't seem to have caught on, and remains a trademark of the Devil May Cry series. (Later used for Bayonetta too.)

Plus, it was a release title, so it's not like it brought anything new to an old console. It was a new game for a new system.


Also, what backstory? There's no backstory in Halo. It's just HEY ALIENS ATTACKED EARTH AND SHIT, WE STUMBLED ACROSS THEIR GOD RELIC WORSHIP THINGY LETS BLOW IT UP.
