This is the first head I've drawn in a long while, and I was just wanting some opinions on it. Thanks!



-update. I finished the neck, now all I have to do is finish the top of the head, take a break, and start on the arms

needs some sort of depth to give the head some shape, youve added a few curves to try add depth, but theres no lighting, so it just gets lost on the texture.
design is reminiscant of the entry you did for the masters of realism event, mix it up a bit.
that mesh on the bottom, you know whats wrong. also remember what happens to shapes on a sphere towards the bottom and top of a head.

Yeah I have no idea what I was thinking when I added that pattern to the bottom...

Nu. it's badly mapped. Try to get that first. Even if a texture is perfectly done, but mapping sucks, it's a bad texture and will look bad.

I don't entirely know what you mean when you say it's badly mapped?? Are you seeing something I'm not? Can you show me?

i dont really see anything particularly bad about the mapping.
to be fair, theres not all that much to map, and the way you handled the V shape in the front is actually well done.

the added shading works kinda well, but i meant depth on a larger scale, try making the shadows on the sides harsher with less highlights to make the front pop more and break the round look of the helmet.

I added a bit of shading to the side without highlights, I'm going to work on it a bit more later, and I'm going to add a better bottom texture to it that feels "right", like a neck connection or something.
