The ripple is only to be used if you are trying to make a smoke-like effect. I don't get why its blue. It doesn't fit in with the avatar. Also, when erasing, erase with a SOFT brush, a hard brush is way too solid.

I see you painted light around her, and I don't really get why you did that. No light source is visible. I painted around the render's head in the light source to create the impression that he was actually looking into the explosion.
