I guess it was how the resolution was set.... i know there is some way to do that. Press a button near the part where it shows the video..A button should say 'project video properties'. If you can find the height/width of the youtube video screen then you can make the video full sized. I, however just found out about this, and honestly don't want to wait another hour for the render to complete.
