I got banned as a first warning for farming and i didnt know it was illegal,
But on to the real topic my ban lift date was 09-16-2009
now i am no longer on the ban list, i can access the forums and multiplayer and everyone else that was involved are still on the ban list.
Should i just not attempt to access the forums or multiplayer until the date the ban was supposed to be lifted or did i get let off the hook?

That's pretty noble, admitting that you were supposed to be banned and some how got unbanned.
