according to that guy he used a liquid metal polish which i've never tried myself but he said it worked the best out of the methods he tried

I heard that putting them on a freezer might help.
Personally I haven't tried it myself.

toothpaste on a soft cloth, just a small amount.

the calcium suspension will gently buff out the small scratches, and the chalk deposits would fill in the larger cracks.

thats the cheap option if you dont have any brass/glass cleaner

toothpaste is the way to go or most video rent shops will clean it for you at a price

oh not tissue. use a lint free cloth (the one used to clean eyeglasses or flannel)

also i use it a lot for emergency cleaups. works better than glass polish for deeper scratches from my experience

watered down turps (like really watery...) on a soft cloth worked for me..
careful on the label tho as this may erode off.. :P
