Since I often destroy mice in rage-induced matches of CS:GO, I've used three different gaming mice up to now.
The 2013 Deathadder was my first. Surprisingly good build quality, felt nice to hold, really good tracking and consistency. Only had two extra buttons though.
Then I got a Steelseries Rival. Mouse is pretty trash IMO. Not comfortable at all (I guess I've got Trump hands), the tracking was wildly inconsistent. Lots of times it would just stop tracking for a second or two. Only happened once a day or so but still frustrating. At first, the braided cord is cool, but ends up getting caught on EVERYTHING. It also didn't take long to destroy...
Now, I have the wireless Logitech G602. Battery life is actually pretty good. I got it a about a month ago and haven't had to replace them. No wire means never gets caught on anything. I never realized how much I needed the little thumb ledge until I got it. Tracking is good. My only gripe is that I can only change DPI in increments of 500, which you said you don't care about anyway. It also has eight programmable buttons, which is a lot...
So, I know you probably aren't playing FPS games, so take my advice lightly.
