I'd like to know other opinions on the design events section being a place where replay makers ask for replays. I'm not sure if that would be the correct section for those types of threads

I agree that it's not convenient for video makers or event participants. I liked it when all the events were merged.
Replay requests could go in replays since it's related to replays, I don't believe it would flood out the actual replay threads and replay makers regularly visit that section.

Why not just move it to a new sub-forum within the Replay section... Named "Requested Replays" or something?

Like the Request sub-forum within the Art & Textures section i.e.
