ok, so I have been trying to get shaders to run for a while. I've looked through some forums on the problem, but all seem to be too old, and don't work. Is there something I'm missing? My computer is fine, and runs all other games. But when i go into setup, check shaders, I leave, and it just unchecks itself. What do I do?
I want them to work.

What graphics card do you use?

You'll need to download the latest drivers for your graphics card, as brought out by Aspire. If that doesn't work, your graphics card probably isn't even able to use image shaders/pixel shaders, and you will need a better graphics card to run shaders. The Radeon and Geforce series are both quite good; even the cheaper cards usually have shaders (though it's always wise to check before buying a new card) and they're fairly popular, so there is a lot of support available for them.
