Right, so the bug hasn't been fixed yet, but the thread doesn't even describe the method of what to do.
I'll leave this open until someone explains it properly.

I read it.
"Activate the item Eye patch with shutter shades and they turn black."
If I do that the Eye Patch will deactivate.

Then put the eyepatch in a set and activeate the shutter shades then activeate the eye patch in the set

That also does not work.
It still deactivates the Shutter Shades.

put them both in a set and activate the set? :P
