afaik you can't get it back. Got to be proactive and keep saving while you are editing to prevent this.

nope, this just happened to me too a few days ago, maybe anyone is able to make a script which prevents this? like u can only start a new game if u press esc > singleplayer and not over pressing space.
suggesting this would be a bad idea...

so just try to make a new replay more awesome ;)
