so, suddenly when i'm browsing toribash this ad pops up out of nowhere, except there is no video, just the sound of the ad playing. (I'm not saying this is toribash's fault, i'm just clearing up the fact that i wasn't on a shitty porn website) It was doing this randomly for about an hour, and then i could hear the sound of the mouse clicking a link, except i wasn't clicking anything. Im currently running a scan on avg, hopefully its not a virus

Also, on the sound mixer (for vista btw) it comes up with random windows applications such as media player and internet explorer, even when im not using them, and whenever the sound plays, it shows the channel of that "fake" application playing the sounds.

I think my friend had a similar problem a while ago. I'm not sure how he fixed it. I think it was a virus.

If it is a virus, it shouldn't be hard to take it away with your virus program should it? (when the scan is finished)

You should definitely try to take it away as fast as possible. It doesn't sound very good that things happen when you don't press anything. AVG should do the job for you. I don't think you have to worry so much about it.

I would actually just be happy if it was a virus. If it isn't a virus, then you can't fix the problem with a simple virus scan.

its a virus, but for some reason avg wont delete it when i tell it do

Look at the directory (location) of your cookies. if you dont want to manually delete them
(Start -> Run -> Cookies) then download CCleaner, its light and its awesome for cleaning up internet junk.

yeah, good point, pretty basic, but still pretty damn relevant
run a disk cleanup, then download ccleaner(just google it, really small download) run it and uninstall it afterwards, updates come out quite often and i dont see the point in keeping it if i only run it once a month.
