I want a PvP server with rewards to make it worthwhile in stead of just killing someone repeatedly and scoring points that do absolutly nothing

Turns out my friends found this server, that needed white listing and it got locked today, they didn't tell me so I can't play with them

Just got this today, tried to go into the corruption and got killed by an eater of souls.

Oh no, that's completely understandable to me.
When I first started playing, I thought the corruption was pretty cool when I discovered it... and then at least 100 eaters of souls burrowed their way out from the ground 3 to 4 at a time and spammed me to death. Seriously, kill one, and two more takes it place...

(This was on the very first version however, I haven't played it since the second update - got irritated that every update nerfed everything and added more things which got nerfed again etc.)
