You can't seem to remove the needle from the head. Upon closer examination, the creature's "head" appears to be alive. It cannot move to attack you, however.

You gut the creature with your pocketknife. Clear fluid covers the blade. You cannot determine the composition of the fluid, at a glance. It is odourless.
