There not being many false claims isn't a great reason to not even attempt to prevent them.
Like I said in my original post, anybody could smash the door and yell. So it doesn't make sense to say that simply yelling is enough evidence that they are real police officers.
I remember a few months back reading a news story where a bunch of officers broke into somebodies house to arrest them and when they saw him with a golf club he was shot once in the chest and a second time in the head. The poor bastard may have thought that there were people breaking in when he heard that racket and he wasn't given ample time to see that they were truly officers.

Have you never heard of excessive force? Or personal bias? There was another case a while back when a deaf man was shot dead when he didn't respond to a police officer, I guess that just sucks for him right?
