The whole idea of the mod is to get the other player to either the ground or outside the dojo, shoveling is a so called "cheap" tactic to do that.

Lifting over the dojo is part of the objectives in Aikido, look here's a dictionary extract:
"Japanese method of self-defense using various holds to throw one’s opponent."
Hate to rain on the parade but "lifting over the dojo" is also quite easy to counter, I vote for normal Aikido, if I have any say in this whatsoever.
