There's a new Major Lazer/Justin Bieber song called Cold Water, but it's shit. This is a much better song called Cold Water from Phil Elverum.

Can't say I enjoyed it too much, felt artsy for it's own sake. I do in a way enjoy the authentic recording style with a lot of room, but compositionally it did not feel interesting. The over the top vocals did not convey much emotion for me, instead again felt like excess for its own sake. I get that excess is in a way the point, but at the same time it just did not grip me. The tone in general was alright, the guitar tone was fine and the drums were recorded in a suitable way for the style, but the song itself was very disappointing.

Bloody hell, enjoyed this quite a bit. Great sounds, whimsical style, good mix and even enjoyable vocals. The actual song lacked a bit of depth tho and the composition was quite straight forward.
Nothing wrong with that, but just did not blow my mind.
