So, TF2 got released on Mac overnight, and Mac users get earbuds.

Also, more to the point, the release movie showed the new engie update shotgun (which looks goddamn sexy), and the soldier seems to hold what appears to be a new cowboy hat.

I doubt the hat is for the soldier, it looks an awful lot like the one for engi. The shotgun does look very nice.

It's the Texas Ten Gallon. He just has it in his backpack, obviously.

Unfortunately not, but it feels that way cuz you are comparing it to the second slowest class in the game next to heavy.

I wouldn't mind giving up both pistol and regular shortie for that shotgun. Looks like engies might be able to put forward bases more often.

But it looks like it has something sticking out the back of the "scope" where the eyes would be.

Played engie the last few sessions of tf2, and it was really boring, just guarding your sentries. And doing anything else was really unlikely, although I was able to take down a few scouts and spies using the shottie.

I'd guess it's some strange kind of grenade launcher attachment
It works by putting the grenade in and then pulling that thing back.
Once you let go the grenade gets shot out...
