My 2G iphone and 3GS have been running very well since we got them. Now my mom is using the 2G one.
I find that for an all purpose device, it already works very well. And really, if the iPad can only use an iPhone-esque OS, it's too crippled to be worth another 500 bucks.
If this only ran OS X, I would really want it. Bad.

Perhaps for people who don't already have an iPod touch or and iPhone, the iPad would be a pretty good deal though.

i think the ipad is pretty useless. maybe they just didnt make enough with the ipod/iphone so they needed a back up...

It's basically an iPod. They make it bigger, thinner and added tons of new features.
The thin part is the shit.
But too bad you can't do art in it :/

It's a lot better than the netbook, that's for sure. A bigger screen is better than the smaller ones.

It's not aimed at the same market that netbooks are, anyway. Still, it's gonna be a small market. Apple really could just rely on its fans though.

There were some styluses that were made for the iphone though. They are kinda expensive though. Hard to do art with just fingers. Just doesn't feel the same.
However, a huge problem would be the palm resting on the screen.

I don't really see the point in the iPad...

to try and make people feel on a semi-subconscious level that their lives will somehow be incomplete without it...it being magical and revolutionary and all. I swear to crap apple is a cult. anyways though, yeah, its kind of like a giant iphone that can't make calls and that doubles as a kindle type thing...anf that can't watch most porn :/

If this was a touch-screen mac, it would be sweet. And yet, it's nothing more than 4 iPhones taped together.



I declare the iPad a fail and anyone who uses it a member of the Cult Of Steve Jobs (aka Apple) There's nothing new, innovative, or remotely good about another overpriced piece of paper from Apple.
