Cause in pubs it's no problem at all and If I get loads of kills as a support we still end up winning.
There is no such thing as kill stealing in ranked.
Only kill securing.

It's no reason to rage and flame, but nevertheless it's so much better if the ad carry lasthits enemy champion rather than support. That's about twice as much gold for him then. Of course if enemy can possibly run, you should secure him, but generally if you have million frags as support and carry has assists only, it's not good and you should do something about it.
tl;dr if you 'ks' from your carry and enemy support doesn't, enemy will be at some advantage.
