Io is less usefull since the nerf to tether, hes mostly just free money to the enemy. especially in lower level games, where they just kill the useless wisp instead of going against the carry that actually needs to die.
darkseer naix is a dodgy combo, it relies on darkseer getting both spells off befor naix uses rage, plus theres the ms bonus from tether.
also, surge isnt an issue, Io can just TP on top of him and naix can use open wounds to close the gap if needed.

Best naix combos I've seen were with Pudge, Juggernaut and blink/leap heroes.

you seem to be forgetting the iconic storm spirit and queen of pain naix bombs.
naix bombs are pretty usefull with any sort of engaging hero.

if you want a fun combo, spirit breaker or clockwork + naix are pretty fun for shenanigans.

I want an Io and Natures Prophet on that team as well, 5 people just teleporting all over the map all the time seems like righteous ridiculousness.

Slark + Naix seems fun as well.

But for realzies: Io, Natures, Naix, Spirit Breaker, Bloodseeker or Slark or any other fast hero.
I'm going to do this in a full party to see if we get slaughtered or can actually trololol through the team.
