I remember that in the first game, the assassin's name was Altair.

And I think Ezio is a descendant of Altair. :U

Anyways this game looks like this shit. I shall pre-order this!
"Can't see California with Marlon Brando's eyes"

"She isn't real.... Can't make her real"
He is a descendant of Altair

That's the whole point.

And the guy that you play in the future, Desmond, is also a descendant of Altair. That's why they're using him for all this stuff in the first place, he has the memories of Altair inside him, and that of every one of his ancestors.
Oh yeh. Sorry haven't played Assassin's creed in a long while.

ALSO: I'd like to know what those strange paintings are at the end of the first
Assassin's creed. I hope they tell us in the new one.

SPOILERS

V Highlight what's below this line V

They're blood-drawn pictures by previous subjects of Abstergo's Animus project.

There's all kinds of languages there, including Hebrew and Japanese from what I've read. Basically, they're all clues and things about the past and the future from other people that, like Desmond, had a connection to the Templars and the Pieces of Eden (iirc that's what they're called right? :v)
There's really a lot of different things that were written and drawn there, mostly things that have something to do with the Christian and Islamic religions, but then again, there's also a lot of Mayan things there, like the Ape and the Spider drawings, they're mystical creatures in Mayan mythology.

This may or may not be correct as it's been a while ago since I looked all of this up, but yeah...

/SPOILERS

As you can see, I loovveeedddd this game so much I actually went out to collect as much info about it as I could when I had beaten it.

Was that how the developers pronounce it, or the ingame characters?

Remember; Altair was pronounced Al-Tair (think Terror) by the English speaking developers and Al-Tahir by the ingame characters, the way it's actually supposed to be pronounced.

So yeah :v

Also Drakhir, I like it how we're both in love with this game :v
