What JellyNinja said.

@KilltheCook:
If the "FTW" in the thread's title means "F*** The World", Boatmurdered had such a project that involves magma.

Also, four Forgotten Beasts slain by a single swordsman. No wounds. I thought that it wouldn't last long... but at least now the fortress is ready for reclaiming. And I entered the

Trying hard to get into it, but its a bit to complex, I "embarked" and used the lazy newb set up, found an area with trees, deep soil, and all the good stuff you need, but it was on the hilliest terrain ever, then my hunter killed some things and I really didnt know what to do so I quit :S

Personally, I would have welcomed hills. Easier for me to avoid goblins after I seal the entrance after making a few rooms. After maybe making a trap or something.

I actually tried killing a few dwarves at a very high height today. They survived. I didn't modify any files. But one of the dwarves landed on a dog, which was killed. At least the dwarves had something to eat, though. And then a forgotten beast appeared and destroyed the entire population... but a swordsman from before struck it down with ease.

its a very tough game

It's a game you learn to love.
It's not fun being overpowered in this, you are not supposed to.
You WILL loose it eventually.
There is no "end game" you won't get it.
Will never ever happen, and you will never ever survive forever.
Just wait until the fucking golems is slamming your little dwarves everywhere.

Or the goblins are takin a shit on your pile of food you collected for months, or your best warrior gettin pissed and killing the majority of your population.
Or you start to sell fucking wood to these fucking elves.

Its fun.

I must have missed something, because I didn't know there were golems in DF...
And as JellyNinja said, you will lose it eventually. Press the "?" button and you probably see green text saying "losing is fun," which probably is the game's motto or something.
The only way to "win" Dwarf Fortress is either by winning battles or wars, or by setting yourself goals, such as projects. For example, to build a 30x30 tower with a height of 15 or something could be a goal... although that takes a lot of resources and you still don't win the game.

Earlier tonight, I set fire to an elf by accident. That started a war. And that same elf killed six of my dwarves without a weapon. Until a goblin invasion began. Then the elf got one-shot by a goblin, and the lone dwarf went into a strange mood. Didn't end well, as human traders came and I was at the time their enemies.

Yugh, isn't golems obviously, searching around abit if i can find the name on wiki, still no luck.

It could be a colossus ofcourse, although, we will never know.

I see the forums like making smilies where they shouldn't be...
Also, I actually killed three dragons with a single adventurer, which is the same one who killed four Forgotten Beasts.

And colossi is probably the closest thing to a golem. My dictionary states that a golem is an artificially created human being that is given life by supernatural means, so I guess that the iron men and amethyst men could count as golems, then.

And the Masterwork thing is a masterwork, I guess. I saw some sprites (tiles?) that reminds me of a game called "Angband." Which probably means that if I download the masterwork-thing, then I won't get to do some work on my Cave Story mods before May...
