Maybe the little fellow is called 'Keys'. Talk to him.

Maybe you can break down the door by drop kicking the little guy into it.

grab the little guy and ask him if he knows how to get out of here or knows how to break down doors.

Tie the thing up with those little rope things you have and keep it as a pet

Maybe he's moldable? Try to mold him into a super special awesome door opener. (key)
