I don't get this problem

Expanding on what deady said, maybe infracting people who do just say 'ZOMG awesome!'. Then maybe people will actually think about they're posting. I'm not a replay maker myself but I imagine that people actually criticising the replay will improve the maker's skills as they get to see the replay from someone else's perspective. And suomy's idea seems really good. More activity means more interest.

You mean useless posts aren't already infracted? Gee, i'm surprised since I used to think of the replays board in a similar manner to the textures board.
I used to have more interest in replays myself two years ago and archlurps really had great reviews.
I guess there aren't as many people like that now.

The same applies for art though. A thread will have a far more views than posts. It's likely that a person goes in and either finds something mediocre or that his comments would be redundant. Or lazy. It's not just replay related. I'm pretty sure my shop has a similar ratio.
For the lower interest, it's just that unlike textures, replays don't involve the viewer. No one buys replays to brag about their awesome replay collection.

But PLEASE do ban the short useless commenting. Perhaps I'm just used to good constructive criticism from textures but after that rule was placed for art, I felt that people actually tried to help instead of posting forthe sake of post count. It was a good decision.

if you don't enjoy making replays for any other reason than attention and e-viagra, that's very lame. good job.

I'm for any ideas about encouraging activity, but I just like having a thread in there so when I feel like I've done something I can learn why it sucks. Then next time I work on it and try to make it suck less. I don't expect people to watch my shits because they're amazing, they're not really. Getting good at making replays takes practice, effort and understanding of what people look for. If people don't comment I assume they couldn't come up with useful criticism.

Take your childish dickhead comments somewhere else. Of course people want comments on replays because they want an outside opinion on how to improve.

Most of the time, people just want to be appreciated, which is where Suomynona's suggestion comes into play.

As for the whole thing of being not getting enough attention for your greatness, maybe advertise your replays better?
Make a #replays IRC channel and maybe you can discuss them and link fellow replay artists to your threads there?
The harsh reality may well be that people do not check the replays subforum unless a friend/someone great has a thread there.
I for one don't check that board, as I don't really care about singleplayer.
