8GB is enough for any game in Full HD and 1080p recordings. There is no need to use more RAM

If I had to upgrade something it would be the video card. No idea what I'd do with 16 gb of ram.

Yeah I think 8gb works for most people.
I run off of 4gb on my laptop and it does the job.
