Yeah thats how tekkit is, it has mods such as buildcraft, industrailcraft, redpower2, mistcraft, and a lot others so it will lag. My advice is to turn render down and make graphics fast instead of fancy that should help.

Lol making a windmill is pretty hard, I suggest stick with solar panels to power your batbox and then make machines collecting rubber from the trees.

also do i use redstone or copper wire?

to connect your solar power to batbox use low voltage tin wires. crafted like below
