Wondering more about the changes they'll make to the item to keep it in check after it gets abuse. I love the concept though

So I've decided I am a huge fan of poppy. She is so satisfying to combo people to death with. My only issue is that I really don't know how to build. As I am fairly new, I don't know what a lot of the items do or what items are good. Are there certain things that people just should never build / should always build?

Depends on your ELO really, but I've hardly seen Sterak's or Warmog's. They're pretty good on Poppy and in general.
