I know your feel, though, my left ankle broke about a year or maybe half a year ago. Fractured my tibia and fibula, and the hospital said it was just my fibula and I could walk on it; ended up walking on it even though it was broken and ended up grinding the tibia and talus into dust, and now I have a steel plate just like you :3
