I have Logitech G502.

Ingame sens 0.2 and mouse 12k dpi.
Still pretty slow sens but its so damn shooth.

Im not sure about the distance but let's just say 1 centimeter.

800 dpi your mouse will move 800 times on when you slide your mouse for one cent.
12000 it moves 12000 times.

So its really a noticeable difference.
You can see and feel it.
