Bryce shifts to a kneeling position beside the bed.
"Don't worry, you're fine. Just lay back and relax."

"That bitch stabbed me. Did she survive?" Serah says slightly sweating.

Daven's Quarry
"Unfortunately for her, yes."

Daven's Quarry

"She fucking stabbed me I want" she tries to roll out of bed and fails due to intense pain and weak abdominal muscles. "AAAAAHH" she clutches her stomach.

She pulls up her shirt up to her breasts to take a look at her wound.

Daven's Quarry
Bryce stands.
"You need to rest. Don't make sudden movements like that, you're just going to hurt yourself. Stay in bed."

"As for the lady that stabbed you, let me worry about her."

As she examines her wound, Bryce spots a burn scar shaped like a sigil on her rib cage. A sigil he had seen before on the chest of the assassin at the king's party. This intrigues and frightens him at the same time.

He begins to say
"... wound will take a while to heal. It's a miracle you're still breathing though."

"Yes it will, though" she follows his eyes "That is long healed, though it occasionally aches. Have you seen it before?"

She traces the outline of her mark.

Bryce shifts his head a bit to the right, as if gears were churning.
"It looks familiar. What is it?"

"It is why I can do what I can do, It is my ancestors, My mother has one on her chest and my uncle over his heart. It is my family."
