Stock weapons are fine.

IMO it's more important to get upgrades fast. But it depends what class you play really. All of them have fine stock weapons, but if you play recon sniper you need the second rifle before you get lvl 8 preferably.

Apart from that I don't see any reason to buy upgraded weapons. They are sometimes a bit better, but more often than not it's better to get suppressor/scope/mag and designator (depending on your role).

I would prefer to rush abilities and the misc slot over guns. Guns are really over rated since even with the low level guns vs someone with max armor, you can kill them in 1 burst.


I'm biased since the ping is bad for me, so I have to rely on tactics over reflex (good luck having faster reflexes when you are a 300ms deficit!). But IMO the game lends itself to tactics over reflexes anyway.

Yeah they're not horrible, but sticking even with only tier I-II weapons, you won't have to worry about dealing enough damage to enough people. You don't even have to look further than that. Suppose it's a matter of preference really, but i remember it usually took a about a clip or most of it, per person at medium range before advancing (with the GI weaps). Sure you can manage with GI weapons, but it becomes less stressful if you move up a bit IMO. What bothered me most about them was the slower rate of fire. After getting vss/pp2000/mk46 (along with upgrades) then the difference was significant, at least for me. Especially when i was playing at places with slower internet, they've saved me from tight spots, having/being rushed. You might try and experiment with that yourself to see if it helps, if you haven't already.

Yeah I upgraded some, and I unlocked some. I definitely think it's best to check it out before hand. Since there's some upgrades that you need to have on any gun you run, you probably can't afford to run at a higher gun tier with upgrades all the time. Pick a few guns in the list you like and get your upgrades then rush to the next one.

Some guns are very specialised which is fine if you run that role or build a lot, but it's better to stick with general purpose guns.


I've been running recon with scanner/smg, I run with the supports for offensive scans. Cloak/smg is good for breaking through, but I don't like to run it all the time since it has less utility. Cloak/sniper is obviously the best in the world for kills, but whatever you don't win the game by getting kills!


I want to run support but I don't have the ping for it. If I can get a fireteam I can run it but pubs don't have the communications :/

I am an absolute monster with support so far. I have an L86 with a few modifications(100 ammo mag + bipod + muzzle suppressor) and holy shit I am literally carrying games solo.

I run APS(the shield thing), and basically, what I do is, I use it in order to break their ranks then I get behind cover and spray flaming lead down their throats. My highest kill streak so far has been like 14, then I ran out of ammo(both the pistol and the l86)

I really hate playing against snipers but i've learned the maps well enough to know where I should push to make their lives hell. Like, in Metro, I know to push up to the base of the stairs to remove their line of sight(after taking C with the shield)

this game has serious esport potential

The game is good, and also the system requierments are so low. It can be played on an old computer with no problem. Also this game is only multiplayer game, but it is more good than Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Blacklist. (i played the game so i know what i say)
