TBH, the government most likely watches everything we do, but they obviously don't give a shit about most of us. You don't see people getting sued or arrested after googling "naked toddlers" or anything. Same goes for google, even if they are watching, they aren't doing anything about it.

Its just a program that looks for key words so they can find out if you for instance like camping or motorbikes or anything else like that so they can personalize there adds more.

This is so people know if they advertise with Google more people who are likely to click the ad will get it.

As for the storing every know website statement, thats just plane wrong. Its easy to hide from google if you want to. Goodly SCANS and/or links to every know website that it can get to, thats like the whole point of google but it cant scan say flash files (yet) or images or audio or dozens of other things so if thats all thats on the site it sees nothing of interest and doesn't link to it.

But why hide from google? google is good...
