Theft and trust are two different things. The consequence of trusting someone who betrays you is loosing TC. The consequence of theft is a ban.
If you don't want people to take your TC, don't give them access to it. If you are going to give someone access, you should at least make an agreement with them for what the TC is to be used for. Then if it goes horribly wrong, you can post in the scam reports board.
