MUGEN is boring, for one decently balanced character there are a hundred overpowered ones.

I'd rather take a balanced and involving fighting game, than an unfinished fighting game engine that everybody uses to make shitty characters.

I agree with this. I had it a few years ago and the only thing i liked doing was getting characters from dif worlds to fight by themselves ( both players are the com) ie watch Cyber Dan and Sandman fight it out.
