He might be able to do a decent amount of damage ad, but ap/hybrid is much better for just about everything. And even 1v1 he can lay down the hurt with sheen + a blue card. To be good ad you need to be farmed/fed a shitton, and without your wild cards doing as damage as they could you can't farm end game.
EDIT: Also, have fun with his abysmal auto-attack range.
