Relaxing joints are perfect for finding a balance
It's also easier to start and build momentum while relaxed as opposed to holding joints

no, they remind me of other thing - when falling - and have few frames spare - relax all - relaxed body seeks balance for it's parts - you could hold all then, when already fell, and see, that ragdoll is free from dq, actually, while changing every unnecessary hold to relax you will realize that you need only one hold, or force to avoid dq. It happened every time I did it Oo, so wouldn't it work for you too?;)
